How do I choose the right size solar pool pump?
To keep your pool clean and clear, all the water in your pool must be thoroughly filtered at least once a day. This is called the turnover rate. Your pump must be large enough to turn over the full volume of your pool at least once a day.
To calculate the pump's turnover rate, you first need to calculate the volume of your pool.

Once you have calculated the volume of your pool, you are assuming the pump will work 6 hours per day. Divide the volume of your pool by 6 to determine the required flow rate per hour for your pool pump. Choose the right pool pump based on the required flow rate.
