If you only want the solar water pump to work during the day, it is not necessary to equip the solar water pump system with batteries.

If you want the solar water pump to work not only during the day but also at night or in rainy weather, it is necessary to equip the solar water pump system with batteries.

How to Choose Batteries for a Solar Water Pumping System

If you need to use a battery, you must connect the charge manager. The voltage of the battery after connection needs to meet the voltage of the water pump. The connection method of the charge manager is shown in the figure.
