How to calculate the actual required pump head?
In real life, we face two water extraction situations, one is surface water and the other is groundwater.
For surface water, we can generally use solar land pumps. For groundwater, solar submersible pumps are generally used.
The following are the methods for the actual lift required for pumping groundwater and surface water:
How to calculate water lift head? (groundwater)
* h1 Underwater head (height between the pump and the water surface)
* h2 Height above the water surface (height between the water surface and the wellhead)
* h3 Horizontal distance between the well and the water tank
* h4 Height of the water tank
Actual required head: H = h1/10 + h2 + h3/10 + h4
How to calculate water lift head? (surface water)
* h3 Horizontal distance from water source to water tank
* h4 Vertical height from water source to water tank
Actual required head: H=h3/10 + h4
Hope this would be helpful.
Thanks
