We are from Shenzhen GengSheng New Energy.Co. Ltd.
Our products are mainly solar water pump systems. They are mainly divided into solar DC water pump systems and solar AC/DC water pump systems according to the different water pumps used (water pumps that support electric input and water pumps that only support DC input).
Many customers face the following question: Which of these two solar water pump systems is more suitable for them? Below we will give you a brief introduction and comparison
Solar DC Pump System
This system mainly consists of solar panels, DC water pumps, and DC input controllers (if you want the water pump to keep working all the time, you can configure a battery).
- Water Pump Power Range: 80w - 1500w
- Water Flow: 0.5 m³/h - 36 m³/h
- Water Lift( Water Head): 19 m - 203 m
- Optimum Input Voltage(DC): 30v - 150v
Solar AC/DC Pump System
This system mainly consists of solar panels, AC electric pump, and solar pump inverter.
- Water Pump Power Range: 0.25kw - 110kw
- Water Flow: 0.3 m³/h - 200 m³/h
- Water Lift( Water Head): 5 m - 680 m
- Optimum Input Voltage(DC): 150 - 450Voc (1ph/3ph 220v)
250 - 800Voc (3ph 380v)
From the above data comparison, we can clearly draw the first conclusion:
Solar DC water pump system has a small power range, and the largest one on the market is only 1500w. In terms of head and water flow, it is relatively small compared to solar AC water pump system. So when our water flow, head and power requirements cannot be met by solar DC water pump system, we can only choose solar AC/DC water pump system.
But obviously there are some overlaps between our solar DC water pump system and solar AC water pump system: that is, water pumps between 250w - 1500w. How should we choose in this case?
We can look at the input voltage of the solar water pump system: the solar DC water pump system, the input voltage, the maximum is 150v; however, our solar AC/DC water pump system, the minimum solar input voltage is 150v. This means that for the DC water pump system and the solar AC/DC water pump system of the same power, under the same solar panels, when the DC water pump can maintain the maximum power operation, the solar AC/DC water pump system just meets the initial operating conditions and cannot reach the maximum power at all, which means that the solar AC/DC water pump system needs more solar panels to ensure the maximum power operation of the water pump. The increase in solar panels means an increase in costs. Therefore, within the power range of 250w-1500w, we should try to use the solar DC water pump system. This can better save costs.
